Sunday Spotlight: Unique Boutique

Updated: Mar 4, 2019

This Sunday Spotlight goes to Unique Boutique on the Upper East Side! I went to college on the Upper East Side and LOVED Unique Boutique, it was the classic, quintessential thrift shop that is uncommon on the UES, that my broke student life craved! I found one of my iconic college fashion pieces, a pair of purple boots at Unique Boutique, and it will always be one of my favorites!

Unique Boutique is small but mighty! They have supplied pieces for film and TV, and while most of their items skew contemporary, they do have some vintage items. As their website says, "We strive for quality over quantity, classic instead of trendy; eclectic rather than common. "

1674 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10128

A few things that make Unique Boutique, unique:

- Low price points, most things are under $20!

- Dressing rooms!

- They have everything, from housewares to clothing for the whole family

- While their website is ancient, they have a fun blog post about panty lines that is chock full of great one liners

- Shoe offerings are en pointe!

This is a tiny shop, but now thanks to the Q, it's not a hike from the train! It has a homey neighborhood vibe and their jewelry collection is one of the most eclectic in the city. If you are planning an art installation using old media, this is your one stop shop. If you are looking for some contemporary workwear, this is your one stop shop. Everything in between is luck of the draw, but regardless, if you make a trip to visit, you will not be disappointed!
